Foodbank Victoria is a major participant in the Victorian
Government's Disaster Response and Recovery Plan, providing
state-wide assistance to Victorians who have become displaced as a
result of bushfires, floods or drought.
In the wake of the Black Saturday bushfires we began distributing
food and material aid within 24 hours and, within six months, had
distributed more than 500,000 kilograms of food and aid.
We also provide secretariat support to Emergency Relief Victoria,
an incorporated association which brings together emergency relief
agencies working across the state to enhance the sector via
information sharing, advocacy and training.
