Each year Foodbank Victoria rescues and redistributes hundreds of
thousands of kilograms of food, the majority of which would have
ended up in landfill.
Through partnerships with generous corporate donors we are able to
source a mixture of A grade, end-of-line, mislabelled and overrun
stock still suitable for consumption.

This stock is then sorted and repacked by volunteers and
redistributed through our registered community organisations.
In 2009 we redistributed close to 3 million kilos of food and
material aid worth in excess of $28 million.
This staggering total was greatly aided by our partnership with the
Melbourne Wholesale Markets, which began in early 2008. To date,
this partnership has provided us with more than 680,000 kilograms
of fresh fruit and vegetables, which is always in high demand.
Foodbank Victoria makes it easy and even advantageous for you and
your company to donate surplus product that you are unable to sell.
It helps you to save money and helps thousands of Victorians at the
same time.
Our Yarraville warehouse has the capacity to store upwards of 3000
pallets and we recently installed a 100 pallet freezer and 100
pallet chiller facility.
