Rural Community Support
Drought, bushfires and the
current economic downturn has seen a dramatic increase in the need
for emergency relief in regional and rural Victoria.
VicRelief Foodbank has regional
support officers, located in four key areas of rural Victoria,
assisting emergency relief agencies to provide sustainable services
to communities in great stress due to unforeseen
circumstances.
Backed by the Victorian
Government, our Rural Community Program program is also building
and sustaining emergency relief networks.
It encourages emergency relief
providers to work together, sharing their resources. Helping one
another to better cope with the challenges presented by natural
disaster and financial hardship.
