Community Engagement
More than 700 organisations
provide emergency relief services in Victoria. Almost 95% of these
access the services of VicRelief Foodbank.
Our independence allows us to
reach right across the emergency relief sector. It also allows us
to reach into every corner of the Victorian community. We reach
where the demand for support is greatest.
Our engagement with this diverse
community of providers is two-fold:
We are a key link in the
emergency relief supply chain. We connect the valuable
contributions of food and material aid donors to the providers who
deliver aid to those in need.As a result emergency relief in
Victoria is more effective and efficient.
We also recognise that the
sustainability of the sector depends on building its capacity and
capability to meet the growing demand for assistance. In the spirit
of cooperation and support we also provide administrative support
to ER Victoria - an association body which brings together
welfare organisations to share information resources,
knowledge and ideas.
